The Purpose of Life

The purpose of life is to gain knowledge that is intended to expand consciousness. To know ourselves on a deeper level, to feel the connection to God in us, to know “I Am”

This is done by looking inward, becoming more aware of our true self and living in the now. A daily practice of connecting to our God Self through meditation, contemplative prayer, chanting or meditative walking, expands our consciousness. With these daily practices we become connected to the Creator. This awareness of connection awakens in us a vibration that radiates out into the infinate connecting us to all things. We are aware of the infinite where things and experiences we desire come to us easily. We are not holding on to the desire, we allow it to flow out, grow and come back to us in a way that is meant for our highest and greatest good. We plant the seed, water it with our thoughts and imagination then suddenly it appears where we reap the harvest. It can be as simple as we think vanilla ice cream and someone offers us vanilla ice cream. We receive a thought about receiving a large check in the mail and bing bang boom a large check is delivered in the mail for your own personal use. We feel love and we get the experience of love from people we care about or connecting to nature. Some days it seems like everything is coming up rainbows, unicorns, peace, love and joy. Some call this being in the flow or in the zone, the bottom line is everything just works out in our favor because we are tapped in, connected to the Source.

Living in the now is not worrying about the past or the future. The past is history, it is done, over with, gone, we look at it to see where we have been then turn our focus back to living now. The future will take care of itself as it has yet to arrive. We focus our energy, thoughts and feelings on right now and when what we deisre arrives in our present moment we say “ Oh, there your are lovely. Thank you for arriving. I knew you would arrive at the perfect time”

Does this last forever? No

Everyday we die, the old cells fall away and replaced by new ones. From the moment we are physically born here, we begin the process where everyday we die to the old and replaced by the new. The body you had when you were 2 is not the same body you were at 16 or where you are today in the aging process. We don’t think about it, we don’t do anything about it, it just happens with or without our permission. Everyday a part of you dies while another part is born. The physical world is ever changing with us, providing us more to desire and grow with every moment. The thing to remember is that our true self never dies, never changes. The true self or God self is always the same, always saying yes to us. We are always in a constant state of creation with our thoughts. Change is constant, we never stay the same, whether we want it to or not. The “not want” part is why the plastic surgeons are in business, see something we don’t like nip it tuck it or remove it. My point here is that as we grow we are experiencing joy and suffering. It is believed that in the contrast and suffering that knowledge and expansion are attained. Without suffering we don’t know joy, without sadness we don’t know happiness, without lack we don’t know abundance. We have to experience one to know the other. The trick here is to not get stuck in the low vibration of sadness, suffering and lack. We are walking through the valley, we didn’t come to pitch a tent. Or better yet we allow the low vibration to flow on through not hold on to it. Don’t get too comfortable in wallowing in the misery. Thank it for coming and thank it for going.

To gain knowledge and expand, we create lessons to learn, illusions of negative experiences. If we don’t learn the lesson it will come back in a different place, with a different face until we learn the lesson. Sometimes you think you learned but here it comes again, harder and stronger than before. The more we experience the more we learn or the opprotunities to learn appear. When we live in a state of observation and appreciation, we are able to learn something from every experience. By allowing the flow of the positive and the negative to move through, not hold on to it, allow it to be and see it for what it is, appreciating it all, our life here becomes more enjoyable. No experience - positive or negative - ever comes to stay forever. Stay focused on the now experience. Learning and growing, learning and growing.

Knowing all these truths, I am made whole in the awareness of God in me.

Practice

  • Meditation

    • If you feel guided, there are guided meditation videos available on our YouTube channel

    • In meditation you focus your heart, feeling into the breath or the manifestation of a desire. It is not stopping the mind it is about allowing the thoughts to pass on through not holding on to them and following them down the rabbbitt hole.

  • Contemplative Prayer

    • For me this is similar to meditation where you hold a feeling of appreciation for the answering of a question or request of God in your heart. Feeling the feeling of the request or question answered in a way that is meant for your highest and greatest good

  • Chanting

    • There is a Joppa Meditation on YouTube from Dr. Wayne Dyer I like to use. It is the repeating of “Ah” in the morning when you first wake up and “Om” in the evening before bed. The “Ah” opens you up for the receiving and the “Om” completes the cycle.
